CareerTeen TeenTours
Organizational involvement
Propose a budget $0 to $200
TeenTours do take up organizational time. Employees who volunteer their involvement might be asked to do most of their work during down time and after hours. TeenTours need not cost a company money, however, snacks, a planned lunch or company branded tchotchkes are always appreciated. Marketing can be an expenditure, depending on the depth of involvement. A starting point can be to simply ask employees to ask their teenagers. Social media and word-of-mouth are other free marketing tools. Putting money into an advertisement would represent deep involvement.
Sell to top leadership
CareerTeen TeenTours will need top level approval, a president or CEO must approve. Committing to one TeenTour would be a good starting point. Additional tours and improvements can be made along the way.
Divide tasks among volunteers
Getting employees to volunteer will be an initial stage. Without cooperation, TeenTours will not work. Note many of this tasks can be assigned to a single person, wearing many hats.
Leader – to oversee everything.
Marketer – to cover all outreach, attempting to get teenagers to commit to a tour.
Speaker – to speak to teenagers before tour and after tour. For deep tours, CareerTeen.com offers endless content.
Tour guide – to conduct actual tour.
Career ambassadors – Before, after or during the tour, expert-level employees can teach teens about their work. A CareerTeen guide will be provided.
Leadership – It would be if someone from upper management speak to the teens, sharing information from the top. A Q&A session might also be in order.
